Mini Hydro Power Plant Kinta
Banjaran Kinta Hydro Sdn Bhd is a unique purpose company formed to design, construct, own, operate and maintain the Project.
Banjaran Kinta Hydro intends to construct a new 2.62MW mini hydropower plant in Perak. The objective of the Project is in accordance with the 10th Malaysian Plan, which is to achieve a renewable energy target of 985MW by 2025, contributing 5.5% to Malaysia’s total electricity generation mix, with mini hydro contributing to 290MW out of the 985MW target. All the electricity generated will be sold to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the national electricity utility in Malaysia.
The Project will consist of the construction and commissioning of two power plant with a net installed capacity of 2.62MW. A 33kV transmission line with 14.5km length from the Banjaran Power House to the existing 33kV Tasek PMU will also be part of the Project.
